Board of Adjustment, Building and Standards Commission, and Sign Control
Meetings
Meetings take place at 7 p.m. on the first Monday of each month only as needed. Meetings are held in the Allen City Hall Council Chambers, 305 Century Parkway.

Duties
Board of Adjustment
The Board of Adjustment is a quasi-judicial board that makes decisions on appeals, special exceptions and requests for variances to city ordinances. Please contact Community Development Assistant Director Jeremy Tennant at 214.509.4172 for more information.
Building and Standards Commission
In the performance of Building and Standards Commission, the board has the power to declare a building substandard and can order or cause correction of dangerous conditions. They serve as an appeal board to decisions of the chief building official, fire marshal or fire chief, relative to the application and interpretation of building and fire codes. Sign Control Board
The Sign Control Board is an advisory board which determines action on sign permits and requests for variances to sign regulations in the Allen Land Development Code. The members of the Board of Adjustment also serve on the Building and Standards Commission and Sign Control Board.
