JULY 12, 2022 - Something new is brewing for a familiar name in the Allen coffee scene. Councilmembers unanimously approved a zoning change to allow Armor Brewing Company to expand the taproom previously owned by Nine Band Brewing.
The $2.5 million renovation will add a full restaurant kitchen and family-friendly outdoor dining spaces to the site at 9 Prestige Circle.
Mike and Jennifer Todryk, stars of the HGTV show No Demo Reno, purchased the brewery property in 2021. The couple has operated Armor Coffee Company at The Village at Allen since 2019.
“This is going to be an Allen brewery. We’re looking to put Allen on our cans, our labels, so people will know this is from Allen. This isn’t just a Texas brewery. This isn’t just a North Texas brewery. This is an Allen brewery, and we’re very dedicated to the City of Allen in that regard,” said Wes Hoblit of Masterplan, who is working with the Todryks to develop the property.
The brewery expects to create 35-40 new jobs and generate $5 million in first year sales. Owners are working on a shared parking agreement with neighboring properties to help manage the expected increase in brewery visitors.
