MARCH 14, 2023 - In preparation for a public bond election expected to be held in November 2023, Allen City Council appointed six members to a bond steering committee during the March 14 council meeting. This process, which typically takes place every 5-7 years, allows Allen voters to consider funding large community projects such as streets, trails, parks, public facilities and more through General Obligation (GO) Bonds. Steering committee members will help gather resident input and prioritize needs for the City of Allen in specific areas of interest, including:

  • Finance
  • Public Safety
  • Parks and Downtown
  • Public Art
  • Streets, Infrastructure and Neighborhoods

The steering committee will be led by Chair Robin Sedlacek, who served on Allen City Council from 2007 to 2019. Sub-committee chairs include Kurt Kizer (Finance), Gary Rodenbaugh (Parks and Downtown), Jane Bennett (Public Art), Michael Schaeffer (Public Safety) and Jim Waldbauer (Streets, Infrastructure and Neighborhoods).
